Leah, as far as I know pandora internet radio is completely inaccessible with jaws screen reading software. It is all flash based, and uses features that jaws is unable to process into text and accessible links. AT one point it use to be accessible, however, I think they have updated since then and it now does not work. The only thing I know that is accessible with pandora is the I phone pandora application that can be used with voice over.

About the only thing you can do is log in, and to select stations, you can go to http://www.pandora.com/backstage. I think you can create stations from there. The one for the iDevices is excilent if you have access to one. I think it gets past the 40 hour/month listening limit. I'm going to test it out.

I bought pandora 1, and it works fine with jaws. You can read everything and do everything from the system tray. Plus it removes the limits.

So does pandora 1 have a different site than the regular pandora? I use pandora on my iPhone very frequently, but it'd be nice to be able to use it on my netbook as well. Like other's have said, the website isn't accesible at all with JAWS.

I recently asw something about an accessible client for Pandora at http://q-continuum.net/

Yeah I've tried to use it too, no luck! :( Hmmm, I'll have to try out that client sometime! Amber

Oh wow! So, the Pandora 1 desktop ap is accessible? I do have Hope, but for 36 bucks a year, it's worth the unlimited listening and the higher quality stream.

Um, they must have changed something. I see all the options in the system tray, but I can't sign in with the application. It uses adobe air, which seems as though it does absolutely nothing with jaws. I've tried system access and NvDA as well, since I'm using jaws 10.

I asked the guy that did Hope if it was going to have an option to sign up for the plus or whatefger and he said not yet. What do you mean unlimited streaming? Will you get bumped after so many listens? Higher quality would be interesting to see if it is truly higher. The regular seems to be nice a clean to me, but that might be due to what I use to listen to it with? I'm gonna try the Pandora 1. Don't know if I'll pay the 36 unless it's truly better. Someone tell me about the unlimited?

You can't try the pandora 1 unless you pay. but here are the benefits. With the free radio, it will time out after an hour of no interaction from you. With the paid version, it will time out after 5 hours. It translates to how often you have to give feedback about a song. i'm not sure what the bitrate is for the free stuff, but when you pay, it's 192 kbps. It's unlimited listening, so none of that 40 hour limit. More skips as well, though I think Hope gets around that one on the free side. I know I've skipped more than my limit in Hope and never had a problem. HTH.

I think tapin radio much better than this program you're talking about.

Sorry for double posting but also tapin radio is free.

192 is good. I haven't noticed it timing out after an hour. I've listen to it when I've had company and it seemed to stay put. It's not my only source, so. I like Napster, and Yahoo, or shout cast is gtood to. Pandora like napster allows me to pick an artist, then hear like music, so all good. I'd pay the 36 because I enjoy it, but if I can't honestly use it, then I'll stick to the free.

Hope works really well for me. I just am on the free Pandora. Compared to no software to use with Pandora at all, Hope makes Pandora come alive. I struggled with Pandora before hope and just gave up on it until I read about hope. with Tapin radio, who do I contact about adding a station? Just wondered.

I listened to Pandora for over 2 hours and it didn't quit after the hour. It was part of MSN at one time, so I wonder if you have MSN service does that matter. As I said the other night I had company and it just played, so I tested it to see if maybe it restarts today while I did stuff and it just stayed put.
